Introduction

This course introduces into the Semantic Web and related technologies. In its formal component, students are exposed to the concept of 'semantics' as it is used in propositional, predicate and description logics. On the technology site we juxtaposition the RDF/RDFS/OWL stack with the set of languages in the Topic Maps framework. Finally, the impact and management of ontologies is covered in the light of application development and information integration.
